JShot is a free multiplatform that lets the user capture a part of the screen and publish it in just one step. It is very useful for those users that want to send captures to instant messaging programs or Chat/IRC.

Captures can be uploaded to an FTP server or sent with programs such as Skype. Also, the capture can be stored in the clipboard, so that you can work with it. One of the JShot advantages is that it has its own image editing functions like, for example, the chance to draw geometric shapes by hand, rotation, include text, displacement, resizing, do/undo, etc.

For it to work correctly you need to install Java Environment.
